A collage of sights, sounds, and events captures the spirit of Brown University in its 251st year. The University celebrated accomplishments and turned toward its future, launching the BrownTogether campaign and beginning the work of Building on Distinction.
The images and videos were gathered and assembled by the Office of University Communications. Sami Overby, a junior at Brown, composed the music, a set of seven sketches for violin, clarinet, cello, and piano titled Layla. The soundtrack uses part of the first sketch and draws on audio from two sessions: a read-through from a composition seminar at Brown and a performance at Brown’s “Fermata” concert in the fall of 2014.
