A panel of experts will come together for “A Providence Stadium: Strike Out or Home Run?” – a discussion about the proposed relocation of the Pawtucket Red Sox to a new stadium in downtown Providence – on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Brown University.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — The Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University, with Rhode Island Public Radio, will host a panel discussion on the proposed relocation of the Pawtucket Red Sox to a new stadium in downtown Providence.

Sports economist Victor Matheson, urban planning and design expert Jack Robbins, and Jeff White of the Red Sox Foundation will join Rhode Island Public Radio's Ian Donnis for a discussion of the possibilities and pitfalls of this project, the economics of baseball stadiums, and the potential impact for Providence and Rhode Island.

The discussion will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 6 p.m. in Brown’s Metcalf Research Building, Friedman Auditorium, 190-194 Thayer St. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

A simulcast of the program will be available at Carmichael Auditorium in the Building for Environmental Research and Teaching, 85 Waterman St., for individuals with wait list tickets who cannot be accommodated and for additional overflow.
