PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — Joseph Tucci, chairman and CEO of EMC Corporation, will give a lecture at Brown University at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25. 2014, in Sayles Hall. His talk, “Cloud Meets Big Data: An Insider’s Look at the Information Technology Industry,” is the first in a series of lectures sponsored by Computing and Information Services at Brown that will feature top information technology CEOs from around the country.
The event is free and open to the public. It will also be streamed live online at www.brown.edu/web/livestream.
Tucci, who has twice been named by Barron’s as one of the world’s top CEOs, will discuss how technology trends in social media, mobile devices, big data, and cloud computing are reshaping business, providing an insider’s perspective on the disruptive technology changes occurring in the marketplace — and their implications for the future.
Joseph Tucci is chairman and CEO of EMC Corporation, a Fortune 500 company specializing in cloud computing and big data applications. The company, based in Hopkinton, MA, has more than 60,000 employees worldwide. Ravi Pendse, vice president for Computing and Information Services (CIS) at Brown University, will welcome guests and moderate a question and answer session.
A lecture titled “Cloud Meets Big Data: An Insider’s Look at the Information Technology Industry,” is the first Leadership in Technology Lecture sponsored by Brown CIS. Future events in the series, which will bring technology CEOs from around the country to Brown, will be announced in the coming weeks. The goal of this series is to bring transformational technology leaders to Brown to share their ideas and vision for the future of technology with the Brown community and beyond.
