Almost 100 members of Brown University’s 2013 senior class will present their capstone projects at the Theories in Action Conference on April 26-28, 2013. Theories in Action, established in 2010, is an interdisciplinary event giving Brown seniors the opportunity to showcase their research, leadership activities, artistic productions, and other capstone projects for the Brown and Rhode Island communities. This conference celebrates and recognizes the challenging work of synthesis and application of knowledge by Brown University seniors. Theories in Action 2013 will open on Friday, April 26, with a keynote address by Kennethn Miller, professor of biology. Nineteen panel presentations will take place over the course of Saturday and Sunday. Panel titles include, “Artists + Scientists: Problem-Solvers, Storytellers, Collaborators,” “From Patients to Policy: (De)Personalization in Contemporary Health Care,” and “Strategies and Barriers to Social Change.” The conference will conclude Sunday evening with a poster session and closing reception. All events are open to members of the Brown and local communities, and no registration is required. The full conference schedule is online.
