PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — Brown University’s Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership (EMHL) program today announced the members of its newly established advisory committee. The membership includes executives from healthcare industries, and medical, academic, and foundation leaders. The EMHL advisory committee will provide insight into the demands of the rapidly changing healthcare landscape to help ensure that Brown’s program offers students timely business and industry knowledge and fosters in them the skills necessary to lead the transformation of the healthcare industry.

Members of Brown’s EMHL advisory committee are:

- Karen Davis, Ph.D., president, The Commonwealth Fund (through December 2012); director, Roger C. Lipitz Center for Integrated Health Care, Johns Hopkins University (as of January 1, 2013);
- Constance A. Howes, J.D., FACHE, president and CEO, Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island;
- William Looney, M.P.A., editorial director, Pharmaceutical Executive magazine;
- Robert Restuccia, M.P.A., executive director, Community Catalyst;
- George Thibault, M.D., president, Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation;

The Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program builds on Brown’s strength in public health and policy, health economics, and evidence-based medicine. It is designed for leaders in clinical care, hospital and health system administration, insurance, the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, and from legal, consulting, and patient advocacy settings who will benefit from the diverse perspectives of others in the program. These executives will continue working while pursuing this degree through intensive study online and on campus. Graduates of the program will be prepared to face the critical challenges in their organizations and across healthcare with new knowledge, skills, and a multidisciplinary perspective.
