Brown’s Office of Continuing Education provided $1.7 million in financial support for pre-college summer students through direct scholarships and its Partnership Program, where tuition costs for selected students are shared with foundations and community organizations. “We are delighted that this year, 450 students were able to attend pre-college summer programs, 53 of whom were Rhode Islanders, as a result of our commitment to build educational bridges for students, regardless of income,” said Karen Sibley, dean of continuing education. Continuing Education programs for college and pre-college students attract more than 4,000 students to Providence each summer. The summer session will culminate Aug. 18.
