Undergraduate Khalil Fuller has been named an Echoing Green 2012 Black Male Achievement Fellow for his organization NBA Math Hoops, which works with the NBA to create a supplemental math curriculum for middle school students, centered around a basketball board game. By making math relevant and related, the organization hopes to improve math scores and instill a love of education in the hearts of youth across the country. The fellowship awarded to Fuller will run for 18 months beginning July 1, 2012, and will include a stipend of $70,000, professional and organizational development conferences, and access to a community of like-minded social entrepreneurs and public service leaders, including the Open Society and Echoing Green networks of alumni working all over the world.
