Humphrey Maris, professor of physics, is one of three scientists to be awarded the 2011 Fritz London Memorial Prize, considered the highest prize in the field of low-temperature physics. Maris is being recognized for his original theories and experimental discoveries in liquid helium. The prize will be awarded during the opening ceremony of the 26th International Conference on Low Temperature Physics to be held in Beijing, China, Aug. 10-17, 2011.
