RaMell Ross, a writer, photographer, filmmaker, Mellon Gateway Fellow and assistant professor in Brown’s visual art department, discusses his latest project, the feature-length film “Hale County This Morning, This Evening,” with the film’s co-writer, artist and RISD faculty member Maya Krinsky. The film paints an emotive portrait of the Historic South, trumpeting the beauty of life and consequences of the social construction of race.
