“The Prospects for Mathematics in a Multimedia Civilization,” an article by Philip Davis, professor emeritus of applied mathematics, is included in the annual anthology The Best Writing on Mathematics: 2013, published by Princeton University Press. Articles are selected throughout the year by editor Mircea Pitici, and the book is intended to showcase the best of the best in mathematical ideas and popular-level mathematics writing. Other authors with work in the anthology include Terence Tao, Ian Stewart, Charles Seif, Kelly Delp, Soren Johnson, and Kevin Hartnett, among many others.
