Brown invites friends and neighbors to a complimentary back to school ice skate on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Meehan Auditorium, 235 Hope Street. Open community ice skating — complete with hot chocolate, hot cider, and cookies — is a family event offered twice every year as part of a regular series of community events that includes summer outdoor movies, theater night, and events on Ship Street Square. (Note: Please bring your skates; rentals are not available. Attendees must sign a waiver. Ice time is for leisurely skating only, so please leave hockey sticks and other equipment at home.) More information is available online or from community liaison Jennifer Braga at 401-863-3717.
