“Imagine 1 billion women starting a dance revolution to defend the rights of women,” said Alexis Aurigemma, a Brown theater student and one of the organizers of campus events to mark “One Billion Rising,” a global movement to end violence against women started by Eve Ensler, author of the Vagina Monologues. About 30 students staged a flash mob on a pink-festooned College Green at noon on Valentine’s Day. Other planned events include all day discussions, tea, and art at the Sarah Doyle’s Women Center and an open West African Dance Class at the Ashamu Dance Studio (5-6 p.m.) on Wednesday Feb. 14. Friday’s events are a screening of the Invisible War at Kassar Fox House, 151 Thayer (3-5 p.m.), followed by a panel and debrief about the movie.
