The Pew Health Group of the Pew Charitable Trusts has featured Erica Larschan, assistant professor of biology, as its Scholar of the Month. Larschan, who now holds a featured spot on the group’s website, was named a Pew Scholar in 2011 and won a U.S. Presidential Early Career Award in Science and Engineering last year for her work on the mechanisms of gene expression and silencing. In an article focusing on one recent high-profile finding about how men survive with only one X chromosme, Pew notes, “Larschan’s work has already distinguished her as a scientific pioneer.”
