Paget Henry, professor of sociology and Africana studies, has two upcoming speaking engagements in the United Kingdom. On Oct. 30, Henry will deliver the 2012 Walter Rodney Lecture at the University of Warwick. This lecture series was established in 1984 by the Centre for Caribbean Studies in recognition of the life and work of one of the most outstanding scholar-activists of the black diaspora in the post-World War II era. Since then the Centre and the University of Warwick have routinely invited a distinguished speaker to deliver the lecture. On Nov. 8, Henry will deliver a lecture titled “Calherban's Reason: Women and Afro-Caribbean Philosophy” at the Institute of the Americas at University College of London.
