Russell Carey, executive vice president for planning and policy at Brown, will discuss the role universities play in growing Rhode Island’s economy at a forum to be held the evening of October 4 at Rhode Island College. The forum is part of the Publick Occurrences series, sponsored by the Providence Journal and Rhode Island College and focusing on ways to reinvent the state’s economy. Carey will be joined on the panel by Mim Runey, president of Johnson and Wales University, and Giovanni Feroce, CEO of Alex and Ani. Other panelists will address the roles of government and the private sector in economic development.
