Brown University was represented at the annual Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) meeting in New York Tuesday, Sept. 25, for its participation in Human Resources for Health in Rwanda program. Brown, as part of a consortium, works to recruit faculty to serve as clinical educators for periods up to one year or more at the Faculty of Medicine in Kigali, Rwanda. CGI recognized and acknowledged the commitment of the organizations that made this effort possible. Bill Clinton said, “It is one of the most important commitments ever announced at CGI,” because it will build the Rwandan health care workforce so that it is run and funded by the Rwandan government.”
