Political science professor Michael Tesler’s research on national racial attitudes was the topic of a 15-minute segment on MSNBC’s Up with Chris Hayes. Tesler discussed his finding that racial polarization has increased since the election of President Obama in 2008, even so far as to include views of Obama’s dog. In addition to host Hayes, Dedrick Muhammad of the NAACP, Karl Smith of the University of North Carolina, and Betsey Stevenson of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School participated in the discussion.
