A new affiliation agreement between Brown University and Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island establishes HHCRI as the major teaching affiliate for hospice and palliative medicine for the Warren Alpert Medical School. Under the agreement, both parties will share the responsibility for creating a learning environment in end-of-lfie care for medical students and residents. “HHCRI is well known for providing skillful and compassionate care. We are pleased this agreement formalizes our long-standing relationship with them and our commitment to ensure that Alpert Medical School students have been trained in the specialized and unique care of patients and their families in the last months and weeks of life,” said Dr. Edward J. Wing, dean of medicine and biological sciences. “Brown has a rich history and strength in all areas of aging in the Alpert Medical School curriculum as well as research and education across the campus. This new agreement is an important addition to our work in end-of-life care.”
