Forrest Gander, the Adele Kellenberg Seaver Professor of Literary Arts and Comparative Literature, has been named a 2012 Pulitzer Prize finalist for poetry for his collection of poems titled Core Samples from the World. The collection was cited as “A compelling work that explores cross-cultural tensions in the world and digs deeply to identify what is essential in human experience.” Gander, who teaches comparative literature and literary arts, is known as a poet, essayist, novelist, and translator of poetry from Latin America and Spain.
