The Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women has been selected to receive the National Council for Research on Women's (NCRW) Lifetime Achievement Award, the organization’s highest honor. The Pembroke Center will receive the award at the NCRW’s annual conference June 20-22, 2012, in Washington, D.C. According to the NCRW, the Pembroke Center was selected to receive this award “because of its important impact — not only at the campus level, but local, state, regional, and global levels as well. Throughout its thirty-year history, the Pembroke Center has made enormous impact through its innovative research initiatives and student and postdoctoral fellowships. Pembroke is renowned for its transnational and intersectional view of gender and its commitment to developing the next generation of feminist scholars.”
