Thomas Webster, associate professor of engineering and the orthopaedics, has been elected a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Webster joins a select group of 900 medical and biological engineers in the AIMBE’s College of Fellows. He was nominated on the strength of “significant contributions to the field,” the institute said in its congratulatory letter. Webster’s lab investigates using nanomaterials as implants in organs, joints, vascular system, bladder, and the central and peripheral nervous systems.
