Brown University will host more than 400 physicists Aug. 9-13, 2011, for the American Physical Society’s Division of Particles and Fields meeting. The meeting, held every two years, will take place in Providence, R.I., at the Rhode Island Convention Center and on the Brown campus. Presentations will discuss the future of FermiLab in the United States, the hunt for the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider in Europe, the Brown-led search for dark matter in a former gold mine in Lead, S.D., and a variety of other research and professional topics.
