It may have been a little cold outside for late March, but it was just the right amount of cold inside Meehan Auditorium for a community ice skate. For the third time in two years, Brown University opened the doors to the home of Brown Bears ice hockey teams and invited neighbors and friends for a free skating session. The Brown Alumni Club of Rhode Island was involved this year, and while turnout was good, skaters of all skill levels could still find some open ice. The little ones used crates or hugged the boards before tentatively stepping out hand-in-hand with mom or dad. There was hot chocolate, a raffle for tickets to theater productions and lacrosse games, and a promise of more sessions to come.
