U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), former chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, will give a lecture titled “On The Importance of Student Activism Today” Monday, May 10, 2010, at 5 p.m. in the Salomon Center for Teaching, DeCiccio Family Auditorium.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — U.S. Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), former chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, will give a lecture titled “On The Importance of Student Activism Today” on Monday, May 10, 2010, at 5 p.m. in the Salomon Center for Teaching, DeCiccio Family Auditorium.

The address is sponsored by the Brown Democrats, a student organization. The Brown Democrats will also present Lewis with its annual John F. Kennedy Jr. Award for Inspiring Youth.
