On Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, Brown University dedicated the Goldberger Family Field, the University’s new field for varsity field hockey. The field is named in honor of Michael Goldberger, former executive director of athletics who served the University for 38 years before retiring at the end of the 2011-12 academic year. The dedication ceremony took place in a tent adjacent to the new field. Following the ceremony, players took to the field for a 1 p.m. game against Yale. Brown President Christina Paxson, Director of Athletics Jack Hayes, and Goldberger all made remarks, and the Chattertocks, an a cappella group of Brown women, performed.
