Brown University’s A. Alfred Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions will host a debate among the candidates running for mayor of Providence on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at 7 p.m. The debate will take place in Salomon Center for Teaching, De Ciccio Family Auditorium, and will include Jorge Elorza, Vincent “Buddy” Cianci, and Daniel Harrop.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — The three candidates for mayor of Providence will engage in a public debate on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at 7 p.m. in Salomon Center for Teaching, De Ciccio Family Auditorium, on the Brown University campus.

Hosted by the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions, the debate will include Democrat Jorge Elorza, Independent Vincent “Buddy” Cianci, and Republican Daniel Harrop.

Ross Cheit, professor of public policy and political science, will moderate the debate, which will touch on a range of issues affecting Providence and its residents, including economic development, job creation, education and transportation.

The debate is funded by the Thomas J. Anton/Frederick Lippitt Fund and the Paolino Speaker Series.

The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. All seats in De Ciccio Auditorium are already filled, but a limited number of tickets is still available to watch a simulcast of the debate in Salomon Center, Room 001.
