PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — Ira Magaziner will deliver the 2014 Paul Levinger Lecture at Brown University on March 20 at 4 p.m. His talk is titled “Can Health Reform Fix Health Care?”

Magaziner is widely recognized as an expert on federal health care policy, having helped to craft the Clinton White House’s reform policies in the 1990s. He has continued to work on the issue on a global scale as chief executive officer and vice chairman of the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

In his talk, Magaziner will address the status and future of health care in the United States in the context of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, which is in the thick of its implementation now.

The lecture and a reception that follows are free and open to the public.

The Paul Levinger Professorship Pro Tem in the Economics of Health Care was endowed in 1987 to honor the memory of Paul Levinger by his wife, the late Ruth N. Levinger, and his daughter and son-in-law, Bette Levinger Cohen and Dr. John M. Cohen, a 1959 Brown graduate.
