The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning through 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, indicating heavy snowfall and extremely cold temperatures. All members of the community should pay close attention to weather forecasts and to guidance from University and government officials and take appropriate precautions.

Travel will be difficult overnight and during the day tomorrow and officials are requesting that motorists stay off the roads unless travel is essential. Accordingly, Brown University administrative offices and operations will be closed for all non-essential employees on Friday, January 3, 2014. Also, the daytime shuttle service will not be available.

For information about University services or events, please refer to departmental websites.

Please take steps to ensure your own safety during the storm. Stay indoors during periods of heavy snow and high winds and monitor local weather for updated forecasts. For more information about emergency preparedness, go to the at Brown Ready website.
