On Saturday, Dec. 1, 111 students received a memento and letter of congratulation to mark the completion of their degree requirements. The 23rd annual Midyear Completion Celebration, held at the Salomon Center for Teaching, featured live music, speeches by two student speakers, and a talk by James M. Valles, professor of physics. Approximately 600 people attended the event. Katherine Bergeron, dean of the College, presided over the ceremony as each student received a letter and memento from Besenia Rodriguez, associate dean of the College for undergraduate research. Brown President Christina Paxson spoke at the ceremony, noting that she was thankful for being part of this long-standing tradition. Students who participated in the ceremony will receive their diplomas in May 2013.
