Poet Layli Long Soldier reads from her work as part of Brown’s Writers on Writing Reading Series. Long Soldier is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. She is the author of a chapbook, “Chromosomory,” and of a poetry collection, “Whereas,” and won the 2017 National Book Critics Circle Award. Booklist calls “Whereas” a “wickedly smart, necessarily solemn, and unmistakably urgent addition to the continually burgeoning canon of Native poetry.” McCormack Family Theater, 70 Brown Street.
