Several professors will take part in conversations about the historical phenomenon of racial passing as part of the "Passing: An Un-Conference." Participants are encouraged to read documents in the archives to gain a better understanding of the topic. Speakers include Michele Elam, professor of English at Stanford University; Allyson Hobbs, assistant professor of history at Stanford University; Karl Jacoby, professor of history at Columbia University's Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race; Sarah Lewis, of Yale University; and Eric Lott, professor of English at the CUNY Graduate Center.
