The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies presents a lecture by Peter Kornbluh titled "Obama’s Cuba Policy: The Top Secret History Behind the Historic Breakthrough in U.S.-Cuban Relations." As part of the Counterpoints: Cuba in Transition Series, Kornbluh will discuss the long history of American and Cuban "backdoor" negotiations. Kornbluh, director of the Cuba Documentation Project at the National Security Archive in Washington, D.C., is the co-author of Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations between Washington and Havana (2014). Lunch will be provided at the lecture. The event begins at noon in the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, Joukowsky Forum, 111 Thayer St.
