A film about a forgotten way of life titled "Histórias que só existem quando lembradas" (Found Memories) will be shown as part of Brazil Initiative's Spring 2017 Film Series. Set in the tiny fictional village of Jotuomba, the film is about an archaic way of life seen through the eyes of a young photographer who is fascinated by the ritualistic quality of the villagers' day-to-day activities. Co-sponsored by the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, the event begins at 7 p.m. in the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, Joukowsky Forum, 111 Thayer St.
