Speaker Tina Campt engages the work of black filmmaker and cinematographer Arthur Jafa to explore “flow,” a term used to name the transformative ways black visual artists reckon with contemporary assaults on blackness and capture black practices of refusal in the afterlife of slavery. Jafa’s unique work challenges viewers to think about the inseparability of black joy and black suffering. Pembroke Hall, Room 305, 172 Meeting Street.
