PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] — A crowd of hundreds gathered on August 21 to view the partial solar eclipse over Brown University's main green.

Student volunteers set up telescopes and handed out eclipse glasses to those who wanted a glimpse of the Moon inching across the face of the sun. Here's a sampling of images from those who were in attendance.

Stay tuned to Brown's feeds on Twitter and Facebook for more pictures from the green and dispatches from Brown faculty who took in the total eclipse out west.
