The Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life presents The Annual K. Brooke Anderson Lecture featuring Dr. Rami Nashashibi, executive director of the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN). Nashashibi will present a lecture titled "Ghetto Cosmopolitanism: Forging a Grassroots Human Rights Agenda." IMAN is a community-based nonprofit that works for social justice, delivers a range of direct services, and cultivates the arts in urban communities. Nashashibi holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago and lectures across the United States and Europe on topics such as American Muslim identity, community activism. and social justice.
